Knowing you pedigree papers

Your puppy comes with official pedigree papers from Dogs NSW/ANKC.

These papers show your puppy’s family tree and confirm they are a purebred, registered dog.

Blue papers 

🔵 Blue Papers — Main Register

Puppies registered on the Main Register receive full ANKC registration and are eligible to:

  • Participate in ANKC conformation shows.
  • Be used for breeding in accordance with ANKC rules and regulations, unless this option is specifically ticked as not permitted on the registration papers.
  • Produce ANKC-registerable offspring when bred to another eligible registered dog.

Think of the Main Register as full registration with no restrictions.

🤝 Main Register & Breeding Agreements

Some puppies placed on the Main Register may be sold under a co-ownership or breeder agreement. This arrangement helps ensure each dog is bred responsibly and in line with the long-term goals of our breeding program.

Depending on the individual agreement:

  • Walkallovau Kennels may remain listed as a co-owner on the registration papers.
  • Any future breeding plans will be discussed and agreed upon with Walkallovau Kennels.
  • The agreement is designed to support responsible breeding practices and protect the future of the breed.

Every agreement is discussed openly with new owners before a puppy leaves, ensuring expectations are clear for everyone involved.

Orange Papers 

🟠 Orange Papers — Limited Register

Puppies registered on the Limited Register are officially ANKC registered and are:

  • Unable to compete in ANKC conformation shows.
  • Not eligible to be bred from under ANKC registration.
  • Still recognised as 100% purebred and receive an official ANKC pedigree.

Think of the Limited Register as pet registration.

❤️ Important to Know

Whether your puppy is registered on the Main Register or Limited Register, they are equally purebred and officially registered with DOGS NSW/ANKC. The difference is simply what each registration allows the dog to do.

Puppies on the Limited Register can still enjoy a wide range of activities with their families, including obedience, rally, agility, scent work, Earthdog, SprintDog, lure coursing (where eligible), trick dog, and many other ANKC dog sports.

The Limited Register is used by responsible breeders to place puppies into loving companion homes while helping to protect the future of the breed and ensure breeding is carried out thoughtfully and responsibly.

Information related to papers 

Dogs NSW / ANKC are currently reviewing the registration system, including the possibility of phasing out Limited Register (orange papers) in the future.

 

At this stage, this is not yet finalised, and more information is expected.

We will keep all puppy buyers updated as changes are confirmed.
